By encouraging conversations around food choices from an early age, I believe we can support, both the physical health and emotional wellbeing, of the whole family.

Making healthy food choices fun….

I believe it is essential to introduce the concept of healthy food choices from an early age.  Poor diet and nutrition are key factors in illness and health problems - such as increasing rates of obesity and type 2 diabetes in both adults and children - yet can often be prevented in the developed world.  A natural diet - rich in wholefoods and a variety of nutrient dense fruit and vegetables - is essential for healthy growth and development, as well as our mental wellbeing.  It’s also more sustainable for our planet too!

Learning about food and nutrition spans multiple disciplines from numeracy and literacy, to science, technology and PSHE. Baking can even provide a therapy-like response for some children and adults, myself included! However, many children do not currently get the opportunity to learn these vital skills either at school or home.
